  • Hello there. Since I can't find the founder of the wikia, I guess I'll talk to an admin. Anyways, I'm a total epic freak, and want to contribute to the wikia. But I can't do it alone. So, first off, I think the heading for a "Role" should be longer. I have seen and own the movie, so I think that we should tell the readers more. Be more detailed, and tell them more. You could also say there is spoilers on the front page. Thanks!

    • By all means! Let's see what you have in mind. All we ask is to keep the bulk of the articles written to an In-Universe Perspective. Meaning as if the events actually happened and the Bombas able to read this wikia on their computers. Also meaning Past Tense as the events have already occurred.

      So, please, no phraseology such as "in the movie", or "is a character", etc. Basically the rule of thumb to follow is: if you would not use a phrase or term to describe your day to friends and family, do not use it here.

      The exceptions for necessary Real World Meta Info is to keep them to Notes subsections. Trivia is for in-universe trivial data.

    • Oh, also, any pages for Cast and Crew should be focused on their participation as related to this project and in this story, with links to their Wikipedia pages so people can look them up there if they want more. Exceptions being if WP does not have pages for an individual.

      This way, the bulk of keeping cast and crew info up-to-date will be with Wikipedia and minimize or remove our need to keep them in sync.

  • Hi! First, I want to make it clear, that I think you have done immense work on the wiki (more than I have xD!) However, recently I have noticed you are becoming a bit controlling on the wiki. Anytime anybody has tried to do something on it, you usually erase what they did. You have also been very rude to other users, via comments (at the moment I'm thinking about the page for Nod where you said "who cares," to someone who had a genuine question, and not to mention trying to control the comments too. For instance when you told me that I shouldn't respond to comments a year old!

    You are not letting this wiki grow and reach it's full potential. What really angered me was when you just deleted all of the hard work that ChuckandSarahmyotp did on several of the pages and reduced all the info to one sentence. Plus you deleted the infobox that I had to research to create.

    This has caused this to be a not very welcoming wiki. The most successful wikis has everyone communicating with each other before making decisions, and letting others do stuff too. For instance, the role of an Admin is clearly stated as "not being of any more importance than other users." I believe that to be a better admin, you should check out some of the more successful wikis for ideas.

    And, while I'm on the subject, I am nominating ChuckandSarahmyotp for being an admin also. Please give him/her admin rights. he/she has done over 900 edits on this wiki and is an important asset to this wiki. he/she has contributed so much to this wiki and this wiki needs him/her. Also, I saw that you told her she needed to wait a few months before you make her an admin, but that isn't true. I'm an admin on two different wikis, and I know how it works. It takes less than 5 minutes to give them rights.

    Again, I hope you are not offended. This is purely professional and for the good of the wiki. I have no hard feelings toward you and I hope you don't have any for me. Thank you again!! Happy editing!

      I *also specifically* said "not saying ChuckandSarah do this" and *intentionally used* for an example "not on this wikia, I know of a User on a couple dozen wikias, who…"

      Please understand, *I* select my words very carefully to get my thoughts across and very rarely do I mis-use any. Does happen, but rarely. You may take the bulk of my statements at face value and NOT read anything else into, behind, or between them.

    • how many times do I have to say I WAS NOT ACCUSING YOU!!!! And I haven't taken anything personally this whole time! I was talking about other people. When did I complain about something you did to me???? Never! Because I didn't think you did do anything to me! Sheesh! Can't we all just get along! I have remained completely proffesional this whole time, and stated that I am doing it for the good of the wiki. I also stated many times that I hope you would not be offended, and told you that you were good as an admin. I just want everyone to work together. I recently joined another wiki community and was refreshed at how well everybody worked together, compared to many other wikis I've been on. For instance, on the Mentalist wiki, you're constantly afraid that somebody is going to delete your page the instant you put it on, or edit while your in the middle of editing a page!! I AM NOT saying that it's like this on this wiki, just showing the difference between a good and a bad community.

      I merely suggested we have a vote and was pointing out that ChuckandSarah does in  fact do quality work on the wiki. I was not reading between your lines.

    • Wikipedia maintains ALL the INFO needed about characters about their lives beyond epic. Their pages here should only consist of their part with the movie, and that is at best no more than one paragraph. Maybe a modest sized image gallery. Anyone interested in the rest beyond epic can follow the links to Wikipedia.

      Our job is to chronicle the movie, not be copies of Wikipedia and other sites.

  • I was wondering if it would be possible to make me an admin on this wiki. I  joined Last year and have already made a total of 206 edits, added several galleries, fixed hyperlinks, removed opinions, fixed grammar, and earned 480 points and 20 badges!! I have watched epic several times. I just want to help-out, and create a better page for fans and users to enjoy.

    • Welcome to the epic Wikia!

      I appreciate your contributions and the enthusiasm you bring to the wikia. I would need to see you in action for more than just a couple weeks to make you an Admin. However if you remind me come March, I'll consider promoting you to the new Moderator status.

      Some things I'd like to bring to your attention:

      • I'm making the effort to adjust this wikia into that of an "In-Universe Perspective (POV)", which means we need to drop from most of the content pages such phraseology such as "in the xx of the movie…". Real World perspective will be necessary and acceptable in certain areas, such as Notes (real world data, as opposed to "Trivia" which is in-verse)
      • Understand that if a character is *sentient/talking* it is NOT an animal or plant, but is a Jinn. This term is taken from the closing credits. Currently it includes Leafmen, who are "humanoids" instead of "human", and technically may even include Boggans, but for the sake of clarity they are not to be considered as Jinn.
      • Avoid any and All Headcanons and -fanons, which even includes things like ages. For example what is a teen or adult for Mub's species of Jinn? Unknown.
      • Categories need to have more than 3 items to be an actual Category.

      Finally, I look for in administrators a certain level of decorum. Tagging pages with "Dumb" and "Dumber" is not acceptable. For one thing it Feeds the Trolls, meaning it plays into their level and they find it amusing and fun.

      What you should do is simply and without commentary, tag pages as Candidates for deletion. This is done by placing as the first code on a page the template {{Delete}} template, preferably with a reason as so {{Delete|<reason here>}}.

      I've been ill, and I could certainly use the help. :)
